Our pupil admission number (PAN) is 60, these are places available for new entrants into the Reception classes and throughout the school. Class numbers in Reception and Key Stage 1 classes are not permitted to exceed 30 children. Visits to the School are encouraged this will give you a ‘feel’ of the school and to look at standards of learning and behaviour.
Entry to Year R (New Intake)
Admissions to the school for children entering the Reception classes are administered by the Local Authority through the Common Application Form (CAF) submitted by parents in January.
Each November, we welcome visits to the school as gives prospective parents a 'feel' for the school and to look at standards of behaviour and learning.
Further information on the arrangements for entry to primary school can be found in our Admissions Policy which can be found in the policies section of our website.
Parents applying for a place at the school must provide evidence of the child’s date of birth (birth certificate) and proof of current address (e.g. utility bill from within the last three months or council tax bill). Parents who have applied for a place in our Reception classes for September will be informed by the Local Authority of their decision in April. Information on how to accept the offered place, or appeal if your child is not allocated a place is included with the notification letter. Our oversubscription criteria is as follows:
- Children in or previously in local authority care (LAC)
- Current family association (Sibling)
- Health and social access
- Nearness of child’s home to school
If you have recently moved to the area or are planning to do so, and you would like your child to transfer from their current school, you should initially contact the school to establish if we have a vacancy in your child's year group.
Initial enquiries for in-year admissions can be made through the School Office; please contact Morny Starling (Admissions & Attendance Officer) on 01227 830276.
