Collective Worship

The School is a designated Church of England Voluntary Controlled School and maintains close contact with St Peter’s Church in the village. Daily acts of collective worship are held; these may be as a whole school, in Key Stages or individual classes. Worship is always of a Christian nature, although material from other faiths and cultures is included. Collective Worship is integral to the promotion of our shared values.

The Lay Reader and Vicar visits on a regular basis to lead collective worship and the whole school visits the church regularly to attend a specially planned service. We also hold special celebrations for Harvest, Christmas, Easter and at the end of the year to which parents are invited. In addition, we use the church to support the children’s learning in the RE Curriculum.

Parents have the right to request that their child does not attend Collective Worship or attend RE lessons. Please make an appointment with the headteacher if you wish to discuss any aspect of Collective Worship.
