Welcome to the woods!

The sun was shining and Mr Frost had come out for our trip to the wider woodlands. We looked at where the pine trees and broadleaf trees grow. There was so much room for exploration with natural materials and we returned with many happy and tired faces.

Year 3 went on a winter treasure hunt to get them looking up, down and around. They were excited about birds nests, they asked about catkins and had to look carefully to find seeds.

We read a story about a mysterious creature - bigfoot - the children started building big footprints, leaf beds as well as caves. They followed our rules well to stay safe and showed fantastic team working skills.

At the end we played a blindfold game using their intuition (a new word for most). Some children mentioned that it was the best school trip ever! We will be back ...
