It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the headteacher of Bridge & Patrixbourne CEP School. Since joining the school in 2018, I have been deeply committed to nurturing an environment where every pupil can thrive. As a parent myself, I understand the hopes and aspirations you have for your child, and I hold the same high expectations for every pupil here.
As a maintained village primary school near Canterbury, we are proud to serve a diverse community where every pupil is valued and encouraged to flourish. Our school website offers a glimpse into life at our school, but nothing can replace the warmth and spirit you will experience by visiting us in person.
Our school vision, inspired by Jesus’ words, “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you abide in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit” (John 15:5), speaks to how we live and grow together as a Christian community. This vision is brought to life daily through our core values of Service, Forgiveness, Trust, Generosity, and Compassion.
Our Educational Principles
At Bridge & Patrixbourne, we focus on three key educational principles:
- Creativity: Our curriculum is rich with opportunities for pupils to explore and express their creativity, supported by specialist teaching in art, music, dance, tennis, and forest school.
- Excellence: We strive for high academic standards, ensuring that every pupil receives a broad and balanced education that challenges and inspires.
- Resilience: Pupils are encouraged to take risks, develop new skills, and persevere, building confidence to meet future challenges.
These principles are evident throughout our school—from classroom learning and displays to the daily interactions among pupils, staff, and the wider community.
Our Christian Ethos & Community
As a Church of England school, we maintain strong links with the Bridge Group Parish, and our Christian ethos underpins everything we do. We encourage pupils to be courageous advocates for change by:
- Supporting local, national, and international charities
- Learning about climate change and environmental stewardship through our curriculum
- Challenging racist and discriminatory views to foster an inclusive and compassionate community
Outstanding Care & Opportunities
We are fortunate to have a dedicated team of talented and hardworking staff who provide outstanding care and support to every pupil. Our school environment celebrates each child’s unique gifts and encourages them to become the best versions of themselves.
