Welcome to Year 3

Year 3 marks the beginning of Key Stage 2 and is an exciting step forward in every child’s learning journey. Pupils quickly adapt to new routines and expectations, taking on greater independence and responsibility for their work.

In the classroom, there is a strong focus on building key skills in English and maths, while continuing to explore a broad and creative curriculum. Pupils enjoy hands-on learning opportunities, including school trips that enrich their understanding of the topics they study.

Year 3 is also a year of new opportunities, as children begin to experience a wider range of sporting, artistic, and leadership activities. They learn the importance of perseverance, resilience, and working together as a team.

By the end of the year, children are confident and secure in their new stage of learning, well-prepared to continue their journey through Key Stage 2.
