Welcome to Year R
Reception is the start of each child’s journey at Bridge Primary School and marks an exciting step into the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our aim is to provide a happy, secure, and stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
The focus in Reception is on developing the prime areas of learning: communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development. These build the foundations for early literacy and numeracy, which are taught through play, exploration, and practical experiences.
Children in Reception enjoy a wide range of activities both indoors and outdoors, designed to spark curiosity, imagination, and a love of learning. We also place great emphasis on developing independence and resilience, encouraging children to take on new challenges with confidence.
Throughout the year, there are opportunities to take part in special events, trips, and celebrations that help children to connect their learning with the wider world.
Reception is a year of discovery, creativity, and growth, providing the perfect foundation for each child’s future learning journey at Bridge Primary School.
