Welcome to Year 5

Year 5 is a year of growing maturity, independence, and responsibility. Children build on their experiences in lower Key Stage 2 and take on new challenges that prepare them for the transition into Year 6.

In the classroom, pupils continue to deepen their learning in English and maths while engaging with a broad and inspiring curriculum. They develop the ability to work more independently, to think critically, and to apply their knowledge in creative and practical ways.

Year 5 also provides a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Trips and workshops bring topics to life, while sporting and artistic events give pupils the chance to shine beyond the classroom. As older members of the school, they begin to take on more responsibility as role models, supporting younger pupils and contributing to the life of the school community.

By the end of Year 5, children are confident, capable, and well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities of their final year at Bridge Primary School.
