The one where Year 6 came to Forest School...

We started off with our fire safety, remembering the fire triangle : heat, oxygen and fuel -and we prepared our veggie pizzas. The children had to wash and cut the vegetables and the techniques of emptying tomato puree were hilarious to watch. We wrapped them in foil and laid them into the fire, turning them with a fire glove. Some commented on how long it took - we looked for hotter parts of the fire bowl and learned that cooking takes time in Forest School.

Hammers, secateurs and loppers were out to use with Elder (which is soft in the middle) and wooden pieces to create any items they liked.

The afternoon was filled with a den building competition, which the children had been asking about. The team work and dens were fabulous. It was great to have Year 6 out at Forest School.
