The Folkestone Triennial is an arts festival held every three years in Folkestone and is taking place this summer/autumn from Saturday 19th July - Sunday 19th October 2025. We are part of it this year!
Yes! We are exhibiting our work at the Folkestone Triennial! A group of pupils from Years 3, 4 and 5 were invited to take part in an art workshop about Folkestone’s geology, its past, present and future; the artwork was made using layers of drawing and a variety of art media. The work produced will be displayed within the following exhibition:
The Age of the Bottle
An Exhibition to showcase the work made with 11 Primary schools & a group of Young carers over the summer term, inspired by Triennial themes, imagining past and future Folkestone.
Saturday 19 July, 1-4pm & Sunday 20 July, 12-3pm
Block 67, Glassworks Building, Mill Bay, Folkestone, CT20 1JG
This is the opening weekend of the Triennial so there will be lots happening in Folkestone! The ‘opening’ of the Triennial will be in Payers Park at 11am on Saturday 19th July; the exhibition is close by in the Block 67 studio. More information about the triennial can be found here: https://www.creativefolkestone.org.uk/folkestone-triennial/
Creative Folkestone regularly welcome our school to take part in art activities and the book festival; we really appreciate their generosity, friendship and the support this provides towards our Artsmark award. The art workshops offer our students an opportunity to work with practising artists; they encourage creativity and freedom away from the traditional classroom and we really do see our students flourish and show independence during these sessions. Thank you to Tania and Emily who ran the workshop last week; we all had a great (and messy) morning!
Please do visit the exhibition if you can and take time to visit the Triennial over the summer. There is a great bus route from Canterbury (via South Canterbury and Bridge) to Folkestone (number 16).
