Sport plays an important role in life at Bridge & Patrixbourne CEP School. We believe that taking part in competitive sport helps children to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and determination, while also promoting healthy, active lifestyles.

Throughout the year, pupils have the opportunity to represent the school in a wide variety of sporting events and competitions. We work closely with local schools and sports organisations to provide opportunities for children of all abilities to participate, whether they are experiencing competitive sport for the first time or competing at a higher level.

Our teams regularly take part in competitions including football, netball, cross country, athletics, cricket, hockey and swimming, alongside a range of inclusive festivals that focus on participation, enjoyment and personal achievement. We also provide opportunities for children to attend events such as sports leadership festivals, multi-skills competitions and 'This Girl Can' initiatives, ensuring that as many pupils as possible can experience the excitement of representing their school.

We are proud of the way our pupils conduct themselves at every event. They demonstrate excellent sportsmanship, respect for opponents and officials, and unwavering support for one another. While we celebrate success and achievement, we place equal value on effort, perseverance and teamwork.

Our commitment to high quality physical education and school sport has been recognised through the School Games Mark, reflecting the breadth of opportunities available to our pupils and our dedication to encouraging every child to be active, confident and to enjoy sport.
