The Cabinet of Curiosities is open!
Sometimes known as ‘wonder rooms’, cabinets of curiosities contain small collections of extraordinary and interesting objects. Our ‘wonder room’ is curated by our librarian, Mrs Haynes.
The Cabinet of Curiosities has been created to engage pupils and offer tangible and sensory inspiration for creative writing and illustration. Children can explore the objects in the library with Mrs Haynes (she has already had some fantastic conversations with the children) and they will also be used in lessons and clubs.
To keep the children engaged, we would like to change the objects regularly. All of the current objects have been kindly donated by members of staff. Parents – we are seeking donations. Do you have any small, weird or curious items at home that you no longer want or need? All donations will be gratefully received and can be handed into the office or given to class teachers. Thank you!
