On Friday 5th June, eight Year 5 girls represented Bridge Primary School at the Girls Dynamos Cricket Competition held at Polo Farm.

Competing against schools from across the Canterbury and Herne Bay partnerships, the team quickly demonstrated their determination and sporting spirit. Their opening match against Blean was an incredibly close contest. Despite a strong performance, Bridge narrowly lost by a single run.

The team responded brilliantly in their second fixture against Petham. Excellent fielding and teamwork throughout the match helped secure a convincing 17-run victory. Confidence continued to grow in the third game against Canterbury Primary School. Another impressive all-round display saw Bridge claim a 20-run win in a hard-fought encounter.

These results earned the team second place in their group and a play-off match against Herne Bay Juniors, who had also finished runners-up in their section.

The girls saved their best performance for last. Outstanding batting, accurate bowling and determined fielding combined to produce a superb display, resulting in an impressive 50-run victory.

The win secured an excellent third-place finish overall in the competition. Throughout the day, the girls represented the school brilliantly, showing resilience, teamwork and enthusiasm in every match.

We are incredibly proud of their achievement and congratulate the entire team on a fantastic afternoon of cricket.
