On Tuesday 9th June, ten children from Year 4 travelled to Polo Farm to take part in an exciting cricket tournament against schools from across the local area.

The team began the day full of enthusiasm and eager to put their cricketing skills to the test. Their first match was against a strong Sheldwich side. Despite a determined performance and plenty of effort from every player, Bridge were unable to secure the victory.

The children quickly bounced back in their second match against Canterbury Primary School. Showing excellent teamwork, communication and resilience, they produced a much-improved performance and were delighted to come away with a well-earned win.

Buoyed by their success, the team entered their final match against Wincheap full of confidence. In a closely contested game, the players gave everything they had and battled hard until the very end. Although Bridge narrowly lost by just nine runs, the team could be extremely proud of their efforts throughout the competition.

The excitement grew when the final standings were announced and the children discovered they had secured second place overall. This was a fantastic achievement and a fitting reward for their hard work, positive attitude and determination throughout the day.

We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who represented the school so brilliantly. A special thank you goes to Mrs Langsdon and Mr Taylor for accompanying the team and supporting them throughout the tournament.
