Year 4 have been very busy this term in Forest School. We have spent time thinking about Rememberance week and sharing what we are grateful for in nature. Children made poppy log slices, poppies with wool or poppy wreaths made from Willow and red cherry leaves. We practised an adjustable knot and used this to build our dens. I had great helpers clearing the wildflower area and raised beds. Tying in with their learning in class about the Maya, we melted chocolate over the fire and dipped bread sticks into it.

Some children chose to make a mud slide (well done if you have remembered all of your rain gear or spare clothes). The joyful faces of the children were priceless. Week 4 was all about foxes, learning some facts, making footprints, fox wood cookies and playing a fox listening game.

In week 5, they had the opportunity of creating some Christmas craft, reindeer, Christmas trees or pine cones. Some children chose to play hide and seek and others climbed trees. We played the bat game and enjoyed nature and freedom of time and space. Have a fabulous Christmas break
