To celebrate our English work on George's Marvellous Medicine, a book which sees a mischievous young boy, George, meddle with his grandmother's medicine in a bid to liven her up a little, Year 3 have been brewing up an equally exciting medicine. Each child brought in one ingredient and one by one, these were added to the class cauldron and stirred into the ever-growing mixture. By the end, the combination of pond water, toothpaste, chilli con carne and too many other ingredients to mention made for a thick, lumpy medicine which was sure to have an effect on whoever would dare to drink it. Following the session, the children chose their five favourite ingredients and wrote instructions using alliteration and onomatopoeia to enable anybody to replicate their concoction at home!
