Last week, Year 4s had an excellent trip to Canterbury. First, we went to the Beaney Museum and Gallery. Murray and Charlotte were the fantastic guides who showed us around the portrait exhibition and the Mirror Mirror exhibition. They explained the use of imagery in painting as well as the use of light and colour in paintings. We were then able to go to their Learning Lab for a portrait workshop. We used pastels and had a great time. After we had eaten our pack lunches we had a walk up through the Canterbury high street and along the city wall to the Dane John Mount. Along the way, we looked at points of interest and features of human Geography from the Roman times to the present day. We all had maps and were able to follow the route. Then it was time to return to our mini busses and come home.
